On Thursday 17 June The Skills People Awards were held at the Barbican.

Cater Link had 6 entries in for the 18 awards issued by Lewisham College to show they have noticed the great efforts made to engage employees, into training under the skills people. Cater Link working with the Skills People have placed 140 people through NVQs in 2008-9 and 104 since August of 2009.

There have been many people involved along the way to ensure the training benefits have been conveyed and encouraged, though one person within Islington has been the driving force. Samba Alfred who won 'Most committed member of the development staff' Highly Commended, which is true recognition for her commitment and dedication in enrolling staff and complete successfully on the Skills People programme, and to also put herself through the learning process. Samba is a true ambassador in promoting training within Cater Link - doing whatever it takes and is a deserved winner!
